How Mount Leaf began
Mount Leaf was founded in January 2021 during the COVID-19 lockdown by Mr. Surinder Paul Sumbria and his wife Mrs. Ruby Sumbria. With over 25 years of experience in the beauty and wellness industry running the Paradise World Salon Group (including Paradise Unisex Salon, Paradise Wedding Castle, and Paradise Training Academy in Himachal Pradesh), they resolved to support their team and community during the lockdown.
They began by collaborating directly with CSIR-IHBT (Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology) to formulate a high-standard sanitizer, which quickly earned widespread trust across North India. By late 2023, they decided to take Mount Leaf further: crafting natural, safe, and chemical-free hair and skincare products that fuse ancient Ayurvedic wisdom with modern scientific rigor.
Partnering with Dr. Naveen Sharma, an Ayurvedic research specialist with over 20 years of R&D expertise, Mount Leaf develops formulas using pure Himalayan herbs. Today, all formulations are approved by the Ministry of AYUSH, certified under ISO 9001:2015 and cosmetic GMP (ISO 22716), cruelty-free, and manufactured with pride in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.
